A few years back, I was one of the lazy people. Yes, I admit it. I was not aware of the fact that active stretching will help me to improve my health. But I came to know when I got injured and that was the time I started doing some stretching exercises.

Since then I never miss a day of doing some stretching exercises and I am so much more flexible than before. This is why I am writing this article about what is active stretching.

What is active stretching?

It is nothing but you are going to do any type of stretching exercise that helps you to improve your flexibility. Whether it is a yoga or gymnastics, you can do any type of stretching exercise for 5 to 10 minutes. It will not only improve your flexibility but also your blood circulation.

Why you need to stretch?

Stretching is an excellent way to keep your body in good shape. You need to stretch every day to avoid any muscle strain, as you are going to move around a lot. If you don’t stretch you will get a lot of pain and stiffness in your body and it will take long time to recover.

You will also be able to keep a healthy lifestyle if you will do some stretching exercises daily. It will make you more energetic and you will get a perfect posture as well.

How to stretch?

You can use some easy and effective stretching techniques that will help you to improve your flexibility. They are:

Yoga and gymnastics

For doing any type of yoga or gymnastics you need to sit down on a chair or bed, then lie down on the floor and hold your body in a straight position. You need to put your hands at your back and then slowly bring them down. If you feel any tightness in your muscles, then you need to stretch them.

Lying on your back

If you want to do this exercise for only 10 minutes then you need to lie on your back with your arms on the ground. Now slowly raise your legs from the ground till they touch the ceiling. Once you got the position, keep your knees on the ground and lift your arms.

If you have been practicing these exercises, you will get good results.
