1. Do you know that there are some plants which are not vascular and they have no vascular system? These plants are called non vascular plants or sometimes called the non vascular plants. These plants are not related to vascular plants in terms of evolution. They have their own way of development and growth and some of them are even poisonous. Here is a list of non vascular plants.

2. Moss A moss is the simplest plant among the non vascular plants. It has very few parts which include a root, stem and leaf. A moss grows from an egg like structure called sporangium. It contains water and carbon dioxide and the plant is capable of absorbing the sun’s energy through its leaves.

3. Algae Algae is the second type of non vascular plants. A algae is a simple organism that can be found in the sea and it also has its own way of growth. It gets food from the sun and it produces oxygen by photosynthesis. It absorbs nutrients through its roots and its cells are made of protein.

4. Liverwort A liverwort is one of the oldest plants and it was already present on earth millions of years ago. It is not vascular plant but it has a root and it can live in dry conditions. It absorbs nutrients through its leaves and it produces carbohydrates by photosynthesis.

5. Bryophytes A bryophyte is also a type of non vascular plant. It is also called mosses. Bryophytes are small plants which have no vascular system and it has two different types of growth. One type of growth is through prostrate or creeping stems and the other type is through erect stems. The leaves are flat and they have three parts which include a leaf blade, a petiole and a lamina.
