1. I recently acquired a fitbit activity monitor and was surprised at how few posts there are online about replacing the batteries in them. So I decided to write one. Why am I writing this post? It’s simple… I’m a huge fan of fitbit and wanted to help spread the word about the importance of keeping their product working properly. And since I’m such a big fan of fitbit, I thought I’d share with you some tips that will help you keep your fitbit active wear device (or any other wearable tech device) working properly for many years to come.
2. Take the Fitbit or other wearable tech device outside and put it in the sun for at least 30 minutes. This will remove any mildew or other contaminates that might be lurking on the surface of the device.
3. After step one, wipe the device down with a dry soft cloth. Make sure and get all the little crevices and corners.
4. Put the device in the washing machine on a cold wash with a mild detergent. Make sure the cycle is short (30 minutes) and use the smallest amount of detergent necessary to clean the device. A small amount of soap can actually be good for the device as it helps keep the battery from drying out.
5. Remove the device from the washing machine and let it air dry. Do not use a hair dryer or else you could break the device.
6. When the device is completely dry, give it a quick charge by putting it on a flat surface and pressing the button on the top of the device 5 to 10 times.
7. That’s it! You’ve just given your fitbit or other wearable tech device a pro cleaning and a quick charge. Now for the first time in a long while… take your wearable tech device outside and put it in the sun for at least 30 more minutes. This will ensure the battery has a fresh, clean environment in which to work. What if you accidentally damage your fitbit® or other wearable tech device? Don’t worry… because it’s easy to get another one. Just visit an authorised fitbit dealer like the one I work with (see link at the bottom of the page). In fact, if you have any questions about keeping your fitbit active wear device working properly,
8. I hope this post has been helpful. If it has, please feel free to share it with others. And if it hasn’t… well… too bad for you. You should try a little harder next time.
