This is a very common problem among people who are just starting to work out. When you first start working out, you should concentrate on doing cardio because it’s the fastest way to get in shape. Cardio is important but you should also spend time on strength training too. Strength training will make your body stronger, help you gain muscle mass and burn more calories even when you are sitting around at home.
I used to have this problem myself. I was working out religiously for about a month and everything was going great. Then one day I went to do some bicep curls and, I literally could not lift the weight for my entire set. In fact, I couldn’t even finish the first rep. I figured it was just a minor blip so I kept working out. A few days later I tried to do some bench presses and the same thing happened. This was extremely frustrating for me because I had been working out religiously for a month and couldn’t seem to gain any muscle whatsoever.
Then one day I was talking with my friend John and he told me that when he first started working out, he had the same problem. He said that when he would do cardio first, he would lose strength. He said the solution for him was to do strength training first and then do cardio after. I thought about what he said for a few days and then decided to give it a try. And you know what? It totally worked!
I have since learned that this is a very common problem among people who are just starting to work out.
