Once upon a time there was a young woman who worked as a secretary in an advertising agency in Manhattan. She was very attractive, very energetic and very ambitious. Her secret ambition was to be an actress. But alas, she was cursed with two physical flaws which stood in her way. The first was she was 5’2″ tall… and… she had very short legs. The second was… she had very tight hip flexors.
These two facts made it extremely difficult for her to walk, run or even move quickly in any way. On more than one occasion, her coworkers had to help her carry her heavy filing cabinet from one office to another because she couldn’t lift it herself.
One day, as she was walking down the hall, a young man who was a copywriter came out of his office and said, “Hey, you’re the girl with the short legs, aren’t you?”
“Yes I am,” she replied.
“Well then,” he said, “I guess you’ve got a problem which just might be solved by something called a hip flexor wrap.”
“What’s that?” she asked.
“It’s a rubber band-type thingy which is wrapped around your hips… to stretch out your hip flexors… so you can walk more easily.”
“Oh,” she said, “that sounds like it might work. How much do they cost?”
“Only $20.00,” he answered.
She went back to her office and told her coworkers what this young man had suggested. They all thought it was a good idea and they gave her some money to buy one.
She went down to K-Mart and bought one of these thingsybopies and…
